HANDS ON HAND-LETTERING

What is Hand-Lettering?

To many of us it may seem just like calligraphy, but there is a thin line between them. Calligraphy is more of an art of perfecting the motion of your pen, whereas lettering focuses more on drawing.

And guys, Imperfection is beauty here! Its up to you, how precise you choose to be.

Getting stated

When I first started doing Hand-Lettering, I didn't care about the kind of paper, pen or tools that I used. I would simply start with ruled paper, ball point pens and at times scale and pencil. But you can begin with good tools like the Micron 1,3,5 pens and good quality plain papers, proper rulers and marking tools.

To begin with, I would just sketch all the quotes I would see and keep practicing. Once I was confident that I could make almost all kinds of designs, I started making my own portfolio. We'll take a look on all my designs very soon. And I m sure you'll be able to make them too.

Shhh, to be honest... I still don't use Micron pens 😜

Chuck It and MOVE ON...

But this time it's going to be some "Preach work"... Yeah, you heard it right. Have you ever been in a situation that people around you think that they can use you as a silly little moron whenever they want, take you for granted and then toss you into the trashcan? Then you are in the right place. So without further ado, I am going to tell you "5 Steps to NOT GIVE A SHIT!"  Number 1 Realize that you are too hard on yourself to give a damn. That's the first step you need to know. As long as you keep going on with the stuff by adjusting with it, you will be the one to suffer. Number 2 Forgive and forget! Umm no... Letting that shit go does not always mean turning a blind eye to it. Sometimes, you need to raise your voice and put "people" back to their places. Be

Make something for your dad and make him feel special... Happy Hand-Lettering! AND... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DAD S!!

Exploring more of Watercolouring

One thing that I find interesting about water-colour is that you can try a lot of super-cool techniques.  It seems like I have used a stencil in this painting but with water-colour, it is possible to do this without a stencil. Water-colour has an amazing property of transparency and spreading in water. To make this amazing bird painting or any other painting in this technique, draw the basic image and paint the outside with clean water using the brush, this is called 'wash'. Before the water dries, take your desired colour and apply it on the wet area. The colour instantly spreads to give this kind of texture.  So, it's time to try this technique yourself... Happy Water-colouring!!!
