Let's paint the World Together

Painting is one of the most relaxing and stress relieving pass times to pursue. From poster colours to oil colours, acrylic painting has many styles. Even an ordinary pencil sketching can be as relieving as a day at the spa.

Of course, all of us want to paint miracle and masterpieces. That's why it is essential to know some basics before we begin to paint our Paradise...

Finding totally clueless about colours?

It is indeed a tough to decide which colours to go with. I started painting when I was 9 years old, and back then, the only thing I was allowed was cake watercolours. But with time, we know not only learn to hold the brush properly but also brush up our skills and become eligible of doing much more.

Here's how you can find the best colours for yourself!

If you are a beginner and have just tried your hands on painting then the best thing to go for would be the ordinary watercolour tubes. The brand I trust is Faber Castle, but initially, I was recommended to use Camlin watercolours.

Once you become accustomed to the watercolour techniques which we will be seeing over time, you can switch to artist colours and imported paint tubes.

The colours used here are the Faber Castle artist watercolour tube. In due course, we will also see the kinds of papers and brushes you can use.

Paper used- Chitrapat Drawing Paper Blocks (270GSM - rough)
Brush numbers- ROUND(00,1) and FLAT(5)

So assess yourself and find your needs. If you have any queries, then lemme know the comment section down below. I would be glad to help to get started with painting... And do let me know your views about my painting too. Let's paint the world together.

Happy Painting...

HANDS ON HAND-LETTERING

What is Hand-Lettering? To many of us it may seem just like calligraphy, but there is a thin line between them. Calligraphy is more of an art of perfecting the motion of your pen, whereas lettering focuses more on drawing. And guys, Imperfection is beauty here! Its up to you, how precise you choose to be. Getting stated When I first started doing Hand-Lettering, I didn't care about the kind of paper, pen or tools that I used. I would simply start with ruled paper, ball point pens and at times scale and pencil. But you can begin with good tools like the Micron 1,3,5 pens and good quality plain papers, proper rulers and marking tools. To begin with, I would just sketch all the quotes I would see and keep practicing. Once I was confident that I could make almost all kinds of designs, I started making my own portfolio. We'll take a look on all my designs very soon. And I m sure you'll be able to make them too. Shhh, to be honest... I still don't use Micron pens &#...

Exploring more of Watercolouring

One thing that I find interesting about water-colour is that you can try a lot of super-cool techniques.  It seems like I have used a stencil in this painting but with water-colour, it is possible to do this without a stencil. Water-colour has an amazing property of transparency and spreading in water. To make this amazing bird painting or any other painting in this technique, draw the basic image and paint the outside with clean water using the brush, this is called 'wash'. Before the water dries, take your desired colour and apply it on the wet area. The colour instantly spreads to give this kind of texture.  So, it's time to try this technique yourself... Happy Water-colouring!!!

Let the MAGIC begin!

How it all started... A few months ago, I was sitting at my friend's apartment, when he suddenly started snooping through my phone and went on to say "Why ain't you participating in drama this year?". His question was indeed logical. I question myself in my mind once and said "Umm... I am not sure." And he said, "I hope you know that you are going to waste a lot of talent if you don't. Come on just go for it!" While I was still stuck between 'Drama or No Drama', he came up with one more question, "And what about your blog? When are you going to do that?"  And, that's what brought me here, blogging all that stuff which would have probably remained on my phone's File Explorer and then gone straight into the backup folder. About the Magician! Hi! I'm Subhashree, a Tamilian who hails from Kerala, currently living in Pune, pursuing my B.tech in Information Technology. Not long ago did I discover my inter...
