One thing that I find interesting about water-colour is that you can try a lot of super-cool techniques.  It seems like I have used a stencil in this painting but with water-colour, it is possible to do this without a stencil. Water-colour has an amazing property of transparency and spreading in water. To make this amazing bird painting or any other painting in this technique, draw the basic image and paint the outside with clean water using the brush, this is called 'wash'. Before the water dries, take your desired colour and apply it on the wet area. The colour instantly spreads to give this kind of texture.  So, it's time to try this technique yourself... Getting stated When I first started doing Hand-Lettering, I didn't care about the kind of paper, pen or tools that I used. I would simply start with ruled paper, ball point pens and at times scale and pencil. But you can begin with good tools like the Micron 1,3,5 pens and good quality plain papers, proper rulers and marking tools. To begin with, I would just sketch all the quotes I would see and keep practicing. Once I was confident that I could make almost all kinds of designs, I started making my own portfolio.
